Augustana- Boston

I'm surprised I haven't put this song up sooner!

Today we got up and went out to Cambridge!  We walked around Harvard (there were a lot of tours going on, and students everywhere!) and Harvard Square.  We ate lunch at a burger place called "Flat Patties" -  I had the BBQ Blue burger with bacon (yum!).  Then we trekked 3 miles through the heart of Cambridge to MIT and a pretty view of The Charles.  It was hot outside today, so it was perfect to walk around a lot (as long as we stayed on the shady side of the street).  We took the T back to Allston after we wandered, and walked to the Dollar Tree for some painting supplies.  We got some tarps to go down on the floor, and some small paintbrushes for edging.

We probably walked 6 miles today, so we canceled our evening run (what a great track record so far! haha).  When we finally got back to our apartment, there was a note waiting for us inside on our kitchen table.  The note stated that they wanted to give us a new kitchen!  This is great news.  Our kitchen is nasty, there is a corner that I call the Black Corner of Death because its so gross.  There is also a dead cockroach under the sink we didn't want to touch.  Oh, and everything is dirty despite multiple scrubbings.  So this new kitchen thing was great news.  Sara called and they wanted to start right away.  She told them they could start Monday.  It should take about a week, and I think they are replacing the floor, the sink, the cabinets.  Probably not the appliances (which sucks, the stove is 100 years old and the broiler is disgusting).  The downside is, they will be working every day from 8-3.  So goodbye sleeping in next week!

The internet was broken again, so Sara called RCN this time and tried to get it to work.  No Bueno.  We have an appointment for Tuesday- because it cant keep turning off randomly.  Obviously it's working now, but we don't know why or what happened.  It's weird.  Anyway, we stayed in and watched a movie, I looked some stuff up online while we waited for Kourt to get in.  I talked to Mom and Dad on the phone, we swiffered again, and watched some Whitney (I never caught up on it when it was on TV).  I had some leftover pasta for dinner, and we left around 945 to head out to the airport.  The T ride takes about an hour, and it was PACKED.  At one point I was standing on a step, with a backpack right in my face, and someone's butt right next to me.  Very awkward.

We got to the airport at 11:00, because I wasn't sure if Kourt would get in early or not (our flight arrived 30 mins early).  It didn't.  Well, like 10 minutes.  We observed some very interesting people though!  She got in, we got the bags and waited in line for a cab.

The cab driver didn't know where he was going, he apparently didn't even know how to get to Allston.  Sara had to look up directions and tell him.  Also, he didn't speak very loudly, and every time he asked us a question we looked around in confusion because no one knew what he was saying.  We finally got back home, Kourt saw the atpartment, then we hung out for a bit and now bedtime.

Quick recap because its 2 am and I am TIRED!  Tomorrow, back bay!
