Alt- J "Taro"  My favorite song from the past month and a half.
It really has been a hot minute since last I posted.  A lot of stuff has happened in the world, but not much in my little bubble.  Yes, bombings at the marathon (my office is 4 blocks away, btw).  Kazushi and James came to visit (Bruins vs. Penguins game that the Penguins actually won!) and I went home for Christine's wedding (it was beautiful and I am SSOOO glad I was able to go :)).

Now it's June! ... And it's pouring here.  There are tons of flood warnings, and it's a mess.  I started with two umbrellas this winter, and now I have half an umbrella.  One broke, the other is broken (but still semi-functional, so I'm still using it).  I joined the gym down the street (literally across the street from our new apt that we move into in Sept) and I am still an intern at my job.  I did get some business cards recently though, because I went to a new business meeting and I had to seem legit.  I got a slight raise, and I feel like a part of the team.  I just wish I really was part of the team.  The company hired a replacement for the guy who left, so we'll see what happens (I was told that had to happen before I could be hired on for reals, and now that it has, I'm crossing my fingers).

Movies that we have seen in the past month (for free):
The Great Gatsby
Before Midnight
The Is The End
The Heat

We spent a day at Allston Beach, which is another name for Jeff's apt complex pool.  I even got a bit of a tan!  I'm waiting for camping to completely brown up, but this is a good start.

Sharks lost to the Kings, who then lost to Chicago.  Boston is pretty excited for Stanley Cup Playoffs, and although they lost last night, it will be neat to be around if/when they win it all.

I've read 31 books so far this year!  I'm well on my way to my goal of 60 books like last year.  Maybe I should increase my goal, but two books already this year were huge.  I just finished Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman, and I'm about to tackle either Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, or Freedom by Jonathan Franzen.  Haven't decided which one yet.

I have all these little ideas for stories in my head, and I'm trying really hard to get them down on paper so I can write a bit more like I used to.

Game of Thrones ended and people went crazy over the Red Wedding.  That's what I was reading when we went camping two years ago and no one understood why I was freaking out!!  (They didn't want to know if it meant spoilers for the TV show, so I didn't spill).  Doctor Who ended it's 7 season- I still don't like Clara all that much, and this new Doctor should be interesting.  I'm mostly excited for the 50th anniversary special when they bring back Ten and Rose.  So exciting!

The cat is still crazy; we love her, we pet her, we feed her consistently, we scoop her poo, we play with her... and she still shits on the carpet sometimes!  I guess she's angry, though I don't know why.  Maybe because she wants us to get up at 5 am and neither Sara nor I want to do that... ever.

I have both Dad's Father's Day present and Jackie's birthday card on my desk, they've been here for days.  I really need to send them out (sorry dad, it's gonna be a bit late).

And I think that might be it for now!

Please do an anti-rain dance in our honor, I want it to be the summer it should be.  Rain in June? No thank you.  I want heat and sun and sunglasses and sunscreen and swimming pools and picnics in the park!  Oh, we did one of those too.  It was fun, we stopped at Trader Joes and got cheese and crackers and snacks, we packed mimosas in water bottles and we hung out at the Public Garden for 2 hours.

Here are the pictures from the photo booth at Christine's wedding:
